Analysis Engineer Software

Aerospace
Hoogeveen, Drenthe, Netherlands
Full time

Introduction

Are you ready to combine software development and technical analysis within defense aviation?

Possibly your heart beats faster with innovative software applications and complex technical analyses. At GKN Fokker Aerospace in Hoogeveen, you will have the opportunity to work on advanced composite structures for defense applications. Within the Global Technology Center you will work on unique internal tools such as FokkerWind and further develop automated production techniques. Does this sound like your next step?

Function

As an Analysis Engineer Software, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborate on the development of new composite structures. Your focus is on the software side of engineering and simulation.

Within the Global Technology Center - Missiles Laboratory, we work with a Taniq robot machine developed by GKN Fokker as well as an internal software platform called FokkerWind. This software plays a central role: it controls all winding programs for the Pultrex CNC filament winding machines in both Hoogeveen and Tallassee, and also converts lay-up information for use in stress analysis programs such as Abaqus. The ambition is to continuously maintain, develop and expand digital engineering capabilities for design, analysis and production simulation. This is essential to continue providing customers with products with higher performance, lower costs and more complex geometries. In addition to the filament winding process, other automated production methods - such as fiber placement and fiber braiding techniques - can be integrated via the robot and linked to the FokkerWind tool.

In this position, your core task is to further develop and professionalize FokkerWind as the central simulation platform. It is also the place where the intellectual property in the field of filament winding design and processing is managed and further developed. What else is important to know?

  • You will develop and manage the internal software tool FokkerWind for simulation and data transfer;
  • Develop and apply software tools for Product design (CATIA and FokkerWind with VBA code including an interface for analysis software including Python scripts);
  • Develop and apply software tools and machine models for Manufacturing simulation (3D RobotStudio, RoboDK or Sinutrain, CNC/robot machine controller software and self-developable Add-ins in with C#, among others);
  • You will perform technical analysis and contribute to innovative solutions;
  • You perform FEM analyses (including in Abaqus, Patran/Nastran) and test the results;
  • You will present technical solutions to colleagues within the engineering department;
  • You actively think about expanding and improving digital engineering processes.

What's in it for you

You will join an organization where technology, innovation and international collaboration are key. Your work makes a direct impact on future defense applications.
What else does it provide?

  • Salary according to CAO Metalektro, between € 4000 and € 6000 gross per month depending on your experience (junior/medior/senior);
  • 25 vacation days per year;
  • Travel reimbursement and 8% vacation pay;
  • Room for personal development and training;
  • Working with state-of-the-art technology in a passionate team;
  • An important role in the further digitization of our engineering processes.

Who are you

You combine technical knowledge with keen analytical skills. You enjoy developing and applying new software applications within a high-tech production environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a software related field;
  • Experience with FEM software (Abaqus, Patran/Nastran); Simcenter is a plus;
  • Experience with CATIA v5
  • Demonstrated experience in software development (including Python, C#, VBA);
  • Knowledge of production simulations and robotic software is a plus;
  • You can clearly communicate technical information to various stakeholders;
  • You are eager to learn, independent and show initiative.
