VDL De Meeuw focuses on modular construction solutions with an emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency. An independent installation engineering team is being set up within the organization, which will be responsible for the design, integration, and optimization of mechanical, electrical, and electronic installations. The team will be given the freedom to shape processes, standards, and improvements. For the roles, this means that you will actively contribute ideas about technical solutions, influence the design and installation process, and directly contribute to making housing solutions more sustainable.
Function
As a Mechanical Engineering Installation Engineer, you are the technical point of contact for mechanical installations within modular housing products. You support projects with your expertise and contribute to efficient and sustainable solutions. Tasks include:
- Advising designers and estimators on technical strategies and project approach.
- Assess which components fall outside the scope of the standard product and advise on this.
- Supporting internal departments, suppliers, and construction partners with technical issues.
- Designing and modifying 3D CAD drawings for quotations, permits, and projects.
- Ensuring high-quality transfer of project information within the team.
- Research market developments and maintain contact with suppliers and partners.

Who are you
The profile suits a technically strong and versatile professional who takes responsibility and works in a results-oriented manner:
- BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or Installation Technology.
- At least 2 years of experience in technical installation engineering.
- Experience with CAD software, preferably Autodesk.
- Knowledge of mechanical calculations and current regulations.
- Strong communication skills and good at collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Methodical, structured, and able to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent command of Dutch, both spoken and written; English is an advantage.
