International On-site Manager

High-Tech Machinery
Boxmeer
Full time

Introduction

Do international projects where you’re responsible for both the planning and the actual installation of complex technical systems energize you? For the Poultry Division of JBT Marel, we’re looking for an International On-site Manager to oversee the installation of advanced food processing lines worldwide. You’ll not only be responsible for planning, safety, quality, and progress, but you’ll also be actively present on the shop floor when technical challenges need to be resolved. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to combine project management with engineering and leadership.

Function

As an International On-site Manager, you serve as the link between engineering, project management, clients, and the on-site installation teams. From the office, you handle the technical preparation of projects and then travel worldwide to client sites to oversee the installation and commissioning.
During a typical project phase, you’ll lead large teams, collaborate with local subcontractors, and continuously monitor the project’s progress. You’ll regularly be on-site at challenging project locations and know exactly when to delegate and when to get your hands dirty on the job site.

Your duties include:

  • You will work with the project team to prepare international installation projects from both a technical and organizational perspective.
  • You are ultimately responsible for the installation of systems at customer sites worldwide.
  • You will monitor the schedule, quality, safety, budget, and progress throughout the project.
  • You will manage installation teams and subcontractors and ensure efficient collaboration on-site.
  • You communicate daily with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders about the project's progress.
  • You will actively assist with the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of the systems as needed.
  • You identify safety risks and ensure that work is carried out in accordance with applicable procedures.
  • You report on progress, deviations, and areas for improvement to the project management team.
  • You will work closely with project managers, engineers, commissioning engineers, and local installation partners. On larger projects, you will lead teams of up to approximately 35 employees on-site.

What's in it for you

Salary up to €3,200–€6,800 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience.

In addition, you can count on:

  • Payment for all overtime.
  • Overtime pay of 140% on Saturdays.
  • Overtime pay of 180% on Sundays.
  • Overtime pay of 120% starting from the 10th hour worked per day.
  • A lodging allowance of €75 gross per night for projects abroad.
  • Per diem allowance for expenses incurred on site.
  • International projects that involve a great deal of responsibility and autonomy.
  • An extensive network of technical specialists within a global organization.
  • Ample opportunities for internal development and career advancement.

Who are you

Must-haves

  • You have a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar technical field.

  • You have proven experience overseeing technical installations and commissioning projects on-site.
  • You have experience leading large international project teams.
  • You have an excellent command of English and are willing to travel internationally about 60% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a Site Manager, Installation Manager, Commissioning Manager, Project Engineer, or Field Project Manager.
  • Broad technical knowledge of mechanics, electrical engineering, pneumatics, hydraulics, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC or software configuration for commissioning purposes.
