Full time

Introduction

Do you have experience with metal surface treatment and do you understand how various coating and surface treatment processes work in practice? If so, this could be an interesting next step for you. We are looking for a Surface Treatment Specialist for Van Halteren Technologies in Boxtel. In this role, you’ll work on high-quality metal components for industries such as manufacturing, defense, and aerospace. You’ll also have the opportunity to further develop your expertise in specialized technologies, such as HVOF, thermal spray, and laser cladding.

Function

As a Surface Treatment Specialist, you are responsible for performing, monitoring, and improving surface treatment processes on high-quality metal components. You work with various techniques and processes to enhance the properties of metal surfaces—for example, in terms of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, or surface hardness. You understand what happens during a process, know which parameters influence the result, and can identify and resolve deviations. If you don’t yet have experience with HVOF but do have relevant knowledge of other surface treatment processes, we strongly encourage you to apply.
Your main responsibilities:

  • Performing and monitoring surface treatment processes on metal components
  • Working with techniques such as HVOF, thermal spray, or similar coating processes
  • Setting Up, Operating, and Monitoring Process Plants
  • Interpreting technical drawings, work instructions, and process parameters
  • Conducting measurements and quality checks
  • Analyzing and resolving process deviations
  • Contributing ideas on process improvements and optimizing process parameters
  • Contribute to the development and application of new surface treatment techniques
  • Opportunity to further develop your skills in areas such as laser cladding

What's in it for you

At Van Halteren Technologies, you’ll work in an innovative, high-tech manufacturing environment where specialized technical expertise is key. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your existing knowledge and further develop your skills in various surface treatment techniques.
You can count on:

  • A competitive salary of up to €4,175 gross per month, depending on experience
  • 8% vacation pay and an annual bonus plan
  • 40 days off (27 vacation days + 13 compensatory days)
  • An excellent pension plan
  • Opportunities to further specialize in HVOF, thermal spray, laser cladding, and other techniques
  • Working with Advanced Technology on High-Tech Projects
  • Discounts on sports facilities and a bicycle plan
  • An active employee association and an informal work environment
  • An easily accessible work location in Boxtel, near the highway and train station

Who are you

You are a technical specialist who understands what happens during a metal surface treatment process. You have a hands-on approach, work with precision, and are interested in understanding, improving, and applying technical processes in practice.
In addition, you recognize yourself in the following:

  • A technical degree, such as in mechanical engineering, process engineering, metalworking, or a related field
  • Proven experience with surface treatment, coating techniques, or the surface treatment of metals
  • Experience with, for example, HVOF, thermal spray, laser cladding, hard chrome plating, electroplating, wear-resistant coatings, or a similar technique is a plus
  • You understand how technical processes and process parameters affect the final result
  • You can read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
  • You have an interest in measurement, quality control, and process monitoring
  • You are analytical and solution-oriented when a process does not yield the desired result
  • Good command of the Dutch language
  • Willingness to work in a 2- or 3-shift schedule
