Introduction
As a Configuration Manager, you ensure that changes to complex technical systems are implemented in a controlled and well-founded manner. You monitor configurations, assess the impact of decisions, and bridge the gap between technology, processes, and various stakeholders.
Function
As a Configuration Manager, you are responsible for managing and monitoring the configuration of complete vehicles and systems.
Technical proposals or changes from within the organization are submitted to you. You ensure that the impact of these changes is clearly understood and that they fit within the existing configuration and company-wide frameworks.
Your responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and managing technical changes and proposals
- Monitoring configurations, BOMs, data, and related structures
- Assessing the impact of changes on the entire system
- Verify whether changes are technically, administratively, and financially feasible
- Coordinating and monitoring the existing change and configuration process
- Ensure that vehicle and system configurations are recorded correctly
- Coordinating with various stakeholders in engineering, project management, procurement, and certification
- Participate in Technical Review Boards (TRBs) and contribute to decision-making
- Taking certification and worthiness considerations into account when making changes
- Ensure that changes are viewed not only locally, but also from the perspective of the entire system and the organization
The processes related to configuration management are in place. It’s up to you to ensure that these processes are actually followed, that changes are properly documented, and that the right stakeholders are involved at the right time.
What's in it for you
- A salary between €4,500 and €8,000, depending on experience and background
- A challenging position in a technically complex and innovative environment
- Frequent interaction with various departments within the organization
- A role in which you have a direct impact on the manageability of complex technical systems
- Opportunities for professional growth in configuration and change management
- A role that brings together technology, data, processes, and stakeholder management
Who are you
You don’t need years of experience as a Configuration Manager. A knack for technology, analytical skills, and the drive to continue developing yourself are just as important.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Ability to understand and read technical drawings, BOMs, and product structures
- Has an affinity for technology and complex technical systems
- Sterk excels in administration, organization, and documentation
- Enjoys working with data and structures
- Can anticipate the potential consequences of a particular technical decision
- Works with precision and follows a systematic approach
- Bringing together different interests and stakeholders
- Has strong enough communication skills to facilitate discussions about changes and their consequences
- Is curious and eager to learn, and likes to take on responsibility
A background in, for example, engineering, change management, configuration management, project management, quality, or a similar technical field would be a good fit.
About the organization
We are looking for a Configuration Manager for an innovative organization. You will be working in a technical environment where complex systems and vehicles are developed, manufactured, certified, and continuously improved.
In this environment, it is important that every configuration is properly documented and managed. A change to a single component can, in fact, have consequences for other components, processes, certification, costs, or the ultimate operational readiness of the entire system.
That is why we are looking for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex technical information and who can maintain an overview of the entire process.
