In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of a machining department where aluminum extrusion profiles are machined with extreme precision using advanced CNC machining centers. You will combine leadership with planning, organizing, and continuous improvement.
Function
As Assistant Manager of Machining, you are responsible for the day-to-day management and organization of a team of approximately 25 employees. You ensure that the production schedule aligns with available capacity and that work orders are carried out efficiently and in accordance with established objectives.
You’ll be a visible presence on the work floor, supporting employees with their daily challenges and ensuring clear agreements and a well-organized consultation structure. In addition, you’ll work with dedicated colleagues to improve processes, procedures, and work methods.
Your duties include:
- Managing, supervising, and developing approximately 25 employees in the machining department.
- Coordinate daily production activities and monitor progress.
- Developing and monitoring departmental schedules, work orders, and capacity allocation.
- Identifying and resolving bottlenecks in the production process.
- Initiate and implement improvements in the areas of efficiency, quality, and collaboration.
- Ensure a clear consultation structure and effective communication within the team.
- Contribute to achieving production and departmental goals.

In addition, you have:
- HBO-level work and thinking skills, acquired through education and/or relevant work experience.
- Experience managing or supervising employees in a technical or manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational skills and experience with planning and setting priorities.
- A hands-on approach and strong problem-solving skills.
- An interest in technology, production processes, and process optimization.
