Yesterday, Maurice Taks visited Supernal in Irvine, USA, where an outstanding team from WFS PRO is supporting the engineering, manufacturing and installation of the cabling system for the S-A2, Supernal's newest eVTOL vehicle. This work is being commissioned by GKN Fokker Elmo, our trusted long-term partner in the aviation industry.
Supernal is an aviation company focused on developing Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) solutions. They are building an electric vehicle for vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aimed at passenger transportation within cities. Supernal's vision includes creating a clean energy ecosystem that integrates seamlessly with existing transportation infrastructure. As a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group, they aim to make sustainable, electric air transportation a practical option, contributing to seamless, efficient and environmentally friendly urban transportation by 2028.
GKN Fokker is playing an important role in the development of AAM by providing key technologies for eVTOL aircraft. Their expertise in lightweight aircraft structures, electrification and hydrogen propulsion is being used in several projects, including Supernal's eVTOL vehicle. GKN Fokker Elmo designed and manufactured the Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) for Supernal's demonstration aircraft, contributing to the advancement of sustainable air travel solutions.
