Introduction

Do you want to ensure that projects are financially sound before they are built?
In this role, you will have final responsibility for the cost of modular construction projects. You will lead the estimating team and ensure that quotes, bids, and projects are financially sound and feasible

Function

As Head of Estimating and Cost Management, you ensure that all estimates within the organization are accurate—from the initial estimate through to project execution. You combine technical expertise with leadership skills and work closely with sales, engineering, and project teams.

You are part of the leadership team and have a direct influence on decisions regarding projects and product development.

Here's what you'll actually be doing:

  • You will ensure the quality and reliability of cost calculations and estimates
  • You assess proposals for feasibility, risks, and alternatives
  • You ensure that the design, engineering, and cost are aligned
  • You manage and improve costing models, key performance indicators, and systems
  • You analyze post-project cost analyses and use them to identify areas for improvement
  • You will contribute to product development and strategic decision-making

You will work closely with colleagues in sales, project engineering, and project management on a daily basis and report to the Project Engineering Manager.

What's in it for you

  • A key role within an organization where you have a direct impact on projects and strategy
  • Salary commensurate with experience and responsibilities (not specified)
  • 25 vacation days + 13 compensatory time off days (Metalworking Industry Collective Bargaining Agreement)
  • Plenty of room to further professionalize processes and the team
  • Working in an organization with its own production facilities and short lines of communication
  • A casual work environment where people adapt quickly

What makes this role interesting:
You’ll be at the intersection of technology, business, and strategy
You’ll not only lead but also be deeply involved in the work itself
You’ll have an impact on product development and market position

Who are you

You have experience with cost calculations in the construction industry and know how to lead a team. You have a broad overview and are not afraid to make decisions.

Must-haves:

  • Associate's degree in Architecture or a related field
  • Additional training in cost management
  • Experience with cost calculations in the construction industry
